Restorative Therapy

The restorative nursing program at Sanilac Medical Care Facility provides residents with the care and direction needed to help them function at the highest level possible.  Restorative nursing services include ambulation, range of motion, therapeutic exercises, restorative dining and much more.  The restorative program works with physical and occupational therapy to ensure the residents are receiving the most effective plan of care in a team approach.  The restorative department provides continuing education and training to all nursing staff in regards to resident safety and mobility.  Other duties of the restorative team include bowel and bladder training and incident investigation, as well as implementing safety interventions to help prevent falls and other incidents.
